As the pilot project, our board has selected Prof. Farhad Hafezi from the ELZA Institute (Zurich, Switzerland) as the first recipient of research funds. His project is focused on translational research to address the growing need for vision rehabilitation related to keratoconus. This disease is the leading cause of preventable blindness in children and adolescents globally.
